 I had the great opportunity to tour the Duke Mansion in Charlotte, NC in the neighborhood of Myers park. First I would like to thank Laura for touring me around this wonderful mansion and telling me all about the history and event details. Welcome to the grand Tour! You will fall in love with this historic mansion built in the 1915's and saved in 1998. The Duke mansion is a grand and elegant southern estate that can host corporate meetings to grand events including weddings and can hold up to 175 guest. The Mansion is also a B&B and has 20 spacious and beautiful guest rooms. Each year the Mansion host 25 weddings and is now currently booking for 2018 weddings. The mansion has 2 ceremony sites if your looking to have your ceremony outside of a church. The McGuire lawn  & The Garden Terrace. They are both very popular but the McGuire lawn has some restrictions due to its historic trees that are over 100 years old; they only hold 2 ceremonies a month to maintain the integrity of the lawn and tree roots. When you book your wedding at the Mansion you have exclusive rights to the use of the venue no other events will take place on the day of your wedding. The house has a library, Grand foyer, courtyard, McGuire lawn, Living room, Solarium, Front porch, The garden terrace,  gardens as well as 20 rooms for the use of you and your guest.

The Living Room

One of the largest event spaces in the Duke mansion and can hold up to 100 guest plated dinner without a dance floor. With a dance floor it can hold 60 guests. Also very popular for rehearsals this room as a built in projector that can come down from the cieling.

The Solarium

This room is right next to the living room and can hold an additional 40 guest for a plated dinner, a food station set up for receptions or cocktails.

The Garden Terrace

Is on the right side of the home and be accessed through the front porch, solarium or living room. Perfect for ceremonies or outdoor reception.

Walkways & Gardens

The mansion has many beautiful gardens and pathways that connect the terrace and lawn. This was taken in the winter so you can't see how beautiful it is. But in the spring and summer it is beautiful. 

The Conference room

This is a place where the groom & groomsmen would get ready in the day and the band in the evening includes a full length mirror and bathroom.

The Bridal Suite

no more needed. Has everything you would need and amazing tub and walk in shower.

Charlotte Wedding Photographer : Vendor feature Ritchie Hill Southern Estate

Happy Friday guys!!! To start off this new year on the PGP blog I have a treat for you.  

I was invited this past Wednesday to tour the Ritchie Hill House and it was a renovators dream and photographers too! And soon it will become yours too; if your looking for the perfect intimate gathering space (It can hold up to 175 guests.) The detail in the house was amazing, to start off with the grand porch that surrounded the house, the moldings, the fireplaces, the glass windows, original doors,  the staircase even the kitchen was taken into consideration in the design plans to "what a chef would want in their kitchen." There were many different rooms and so much to look at and admire. This house was truly a work of art and very well done. History is preserved.

Let me give you the tour, think of this as a blank canvas for your next event.

The Ritchie Hill is a southern estate designed and restored to host weddings and other events located in Concord's Historic District. This house has an amazing story on how it became an event space for weddings and events. You can look up the full story here.

When you first walk in you are greeted by stairs that lead to the front door and grand surround white porch.

when you first walk in through the doors you see the stairs and to the left and right are rooms. 

To the right is an empty room perfect for reception seating or bar.

To the left is the cake room. Where the flowers are would be replaced by your desserts.

We couldn't forget the bathroom. 

This would be the grooms lounge/ room right off through the doors would be a porch; easy access to the outside.

When you walk upstairs to the left is the bathroom and to the right is a place for the bridesmaids to get their make up done!

A place for your dresses.

The furniture. Everything in the house is available for the client to use.

The Bridal Suite. The girls too have a porch upstairs unfortunately I did not take a picture of it. Was too excited to photograph the interior spaces. 

Another beautiful empty room with amazing light used mostly for portraits.

Can't forget the parking lot. They have a huge lot for your guests.

Happy Friday! It's the weekend and 2 weeks away from Christmas! Today I'm sharing with you Lisa & Mark's wedding day at the 1932 Barn at Hodges Farm located in Charlotte NC. This place is a dream if your looking for a classy rustic venue for your special event. The staff is dream and so sweet. They also put everything together for you (decorations, hand letting signs, and day event coordinating.) Lisa & Mark's wedding day was a dream it was intimate and perfect just for them. It was such an honor to document their love and commitment to each other and their family. Enjoy :)

Happy Friday guys! Can you believe it's already November (cue scream.) It will be the holidays before you know it. This Friday I will be sharing one of my favorite weddings the first of many to come! It was a beautiful, sunny and hot wedding in Atlanta, Georgia. The Venue was drop dead gorgeous!!! And the color scheme was blush, pinks, purples and light creams throughout. The Bride and the party were pretty amazing too. Enjoy :)

Mrs. & Mr. Kubes tied the knot Friday February 27th 2015 at the court house in Charlotte NC! It was classy, romantic and simple. I absolutely loved being part of their day and documenting these special moments for them. We couldn't get any photographs of the actual vows, but we were to still able to capture the excitement and joy of being married and their commitment they did to each other that day. Enjoy!
